Unless there is one official Facebook application or at least Messenger for macOS, it is a very good alternative to get notifications from Facebook on Mac.
How do you turn off notifications on mac messenger how to#
How to get Facebook desktop notifications on Mac. I have not tried turning Off the iMessages account by unticking the "Enable the Account" box or by Signing the Account out. Here you can Turn on or Turn off your desktop notifications by clicking on button. Normally for this to work the iMessages would have had to have been set up and then linked to the other devices. Handoff does require that various Apple IDs are linked across devices. There is not Status Showing for the iMessages account (you can't tell if it is logged in or Not). The default times turn Do Not Disturb on overnight, but you can set any time period you want. Select the From option, and then set the times you want Do Not Disturb to be active. The first thing you’ll see are the Do Not Disturb settings.

I would go as far as to say the iMessages account is not that integrated into the iChat app. Head to System Preferences > Notifications. Most of the Menu items refer to the functions that were already present in iChat before the iMessage account was added to make it the Messages app. The iMessages account is not effected by this setting. The item in the General section of the Preferences that refers to setting the Status as Off line only refers to Accounts that have Buddy Lists (Bonjour, AIM, Jabber which includes Google and Yahoo) If the Dock is saying there is an iMessage (it could be any other message - you will not know until you look) and some point the Messages App must have had an Apple ID set up.
